My Dad was an avid sailor and started taking my sisters and me to the Caribbean early in my life to bareboat. He later befriended a kindred spirit who took his bride and settled on a five-acre island in the Bahamas that he eventually bought from the Queen of England. He raised his family and made his life there into his eighth decade, until Hurricane Dorian finally demolished his precious home. But we remain so very fond of the Caribbean, its rich and diverse cultures, and its incredibly kind people.
