Our current part-time home, this special city has brought me more happiness and contentedness than I ever thought was possible, late in my life. First, the beauty of the vast lake, so intentionally designed to be accessible to all - and the grand architecture surrounding the river and in all of the unique and special pedestrian neighborhoods. But even beyond that, it’s the friendliness and kindness of the people and the culture that tops it all. There is a pervasive humble willingness to share - as if all belong, there’s enough to go around, and all are welcome. I am utterly grateful to all who built this amazingly soulful, badass city.
